PROFILE
Mark Vanderloo is a male supermodel by every definition. Mark hit the international modeling scene by storm and within months was walking the runway in Paris, Milan and New York. He moved from Holland to New York to be Calvin Klein’s Obsession model. It was then that his modeling career put a spotlight on men’s fashion and he began his path to supermodel status. Throughout the late 90’s, Mark was chosen to be the face and body of Boss' couture and ready-to-wear lines. He walked for Calvin Klein, Versace, Hermes, Valentino and Boss to name a few- as he was doing over 50 shows every fashion week at this time. Donna Karan also has been a longtime client of Vanderloo, with his having been the face of DKNY for many of the seasons spanning his career. Vanderloo has also been one of the primary models for Hugo Boss black-and-white print ads and billboards since 2005. Throughout his career, he has fronted the campaigns of Armani, Banana Republic, Trussardi, Valentino, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Versace and Guess among others.
Mark expanded his brand beyond the fashion industry. His impact on the male modeling business was clear when he influenced Hollywood, as he was half the inspiration for the main character in the film Zoolander. Derek Zoolander was loosely based on Vanderloo’s and Johnny Zander’s (fellow male model) names. He had his likeness used in many video games for Xbox 360, PC, Playstation 3 AND WII U. He also made guest appearances on TV shows on MTV as well as America’s Next Top Model in 2008.
Mark continues to work with major designers and graces the covers of some of the most credible fashion magazines. He lives in Europe with his wife and two children.
